All users are expected to adhere to the policies of the RuneScape Wikis. If you disagree with any policy, feel free to discuss changes on the forums.
Policies have wide acceptance among editors and describe standards that all users should normally follow. All policy pages can be found at Category:Policies.
Policies
[edit source]These policies apply to Meta Wiki (this wiki) specifically. Other wikis may have the same or similar policies.
| Policy | Summary |
|---|---|
| Assume good faith | Unless there is conclusive evidence to the contrary, always assume that an editor's actions were an attempt to improve the wiki. |
| Block policy | |
| Consensus | Consensus is the wiki's model for group decision-making. It seeks the consent, not necessarily the agreement, of the relevant parties. |
| Don't delete discussions | Don't delete previous discussions. |
| Don't edit userpages | Under normal circumstances, don't edit someone else's userpage. |
| Don't feed the trolls | Do not antagonise trolls under any circumstances. |
| Gaming the system | Use common sense. Don't interpret policies and editors word-for-word. |
| Personal templates | Customized templates created by users should be in the userspace. |
| Signatures | |
| Status and opinion-weight | An editor's status, popularity, or in-game experience does not affect the validity of their opinions or anything they may say. |
| Use common sense | If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining the wiki, use common sense and ignore it. |
| User treatment policy | Be nice and don't cause unnecessary strife. |
Global policies
[edit source]These policies apply to the "RuneScape" family of Weird Gloop wikis (RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, RuneScape Classic, RuneScape PTBR, and Meta).
| Policy | Summary |
|---|---|
| Generative AI policy | Do not use generative AI to edit the wiki. Unless you are able to attribute outputs from your generative AI project to specific training data (wiki articles that contributed to a particular output, and their authors), then using wiki content as training data is most likely a violation of the CC BY-NC-SA license. |
